St Pattys Day Casual

St Pattys Day Casual

As you get older, you still want to take part in the fun of St Patrick's Day. Wear green or get pinched. I'm in. I get it. But you still want to feel like yourself and not a costume version. (Halloween is a totally different story.) I love to wear neutral versions of holiday colors to work or lunch so that I don't feel like I'm screaming "I'm Festive and FUN!"

T-Shirt and Jeans on a Long Weekend

T-Shirt and Jeans on a Long Weekend

J and I were headed to the grocery store and I made him stop and take pictures. So glamorous. I know. But...  I always get all dolled up for the blog, but after sharing my day date photos last week, I felt so much more comfortable just sharing day to day. We swung by the back of a local restaurant and snapped a few pictures...

Day Date in Downtown Nassau

Day Date in Downtown Nassau

Today I made J have a little lunch date with me. It was actually really fun. Such an amazing way to break up the week. The weather has been perfect, and it's been a while since I've been downtown. It usually overwhelms me, but today was completely refreshing. Not too many cruise ships were in town, and we were able to take our watches in for new batteries. I know, I know.. "Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, I don't know if we'll have enough time..." As for the #OOTD...

Relaxed Sexy with Black and Denim

Relaxed Sexy with Black and Denim

It's all about ease. And you can never go wrong with a classic black mini, converse, and denim. I don't like to wear things that are super tight, so This stretch mini usually is crumbled up in the corner of my tank top drawer. But I was feeling devilish and decided to take the curves for a spin

Mauve Maven

Monday, and I finally feel settled back in to the BAH. Last week flew by, and I felt like I was just trying to play catch up the whole time. I'm soaking up the "down time" on the island before I head back to The States for some work in Miami, and then NYFW!! Yay!! (Cross that off of my 101 in 1001!)

Today's #OOTD pictures are of a mauve find from Zara. I went a little crazy there my last trip to Miami. I am loving this tulip hem line. The trend is perfect for feeling super sexy, but still getting away with eating that chocolate croissant you are dying for. (Life is Short!) I dressed it up for Swim Week, but found myself wearing it during the day with my denim jacket and converse kicks way more often.

When you are getting ready for this Fall's fashions, remember that the 90's are back. Revert to your/my high school days, throw on your converse, your denim jacket, your flannel grudge button down, and you are good to go! Not going to lie... I'm pretty thrilled all my favorites are back on trend.

So dress down that mini, and you are ready to hit the town... day or night!

OOTD: Recycled Closet Find!

The Recycled Closet is an AMAZING find here in South Florida.

Coming from LA, I'm used to the popular streets being saturated with consignment stores. Most of which are a total mess with snobby employees. Well, not here! The Recycled Closet was founded 5 years ago by a friend, and is hidden in the warehouses across from The Falls (a local mall). The racks are filled with everything from Forever21 to PRADA. Clothing (Women's AND Men's), Shoes, Jewelry (consignment and local designers), and more! Trust me you will lose yourself in the options. I went in thinking I'd find one or two things, like most consignment hunts. But no. I found myself wanting practically everything I put on my body. And here's the craziest part... I even found the most amazing clothes in the $5 bin! Yes, there's actually a back section where everything in it is $5 AND there's great things in it. What?! Theory, Robert Rodriguez, all kinds of wonderfulness.

They also have a large formal wear section, which is perfect for finding your prom dress. I actually saw my prom dress there in a different size and had a little nostalgic moment. (PS it's still adorable as ever.)

Here's one of the sweater dresses I found, with a BCBG slip underneath it. It's so cozy and cute. Over sized sweater dresses make me so, so happy. I paired it with my white converse and some gold hoops because sometimes I like pulling out my "Miami", as my mom likes to say. Jennifer, the owner and friend, let me borrow the dress, so it will be back on the rack this Friday!

Sunset Bike Ride

We have had workmen at the house all week fixing our patio, so between that and the blog, I have been stuck in the corner of the couch for days. Lucky for me, J is amazing at getting us out of the house. So, last night we decided to take the bikes out for a little sunset ride. We are pretty blessed to have a few restaurants within our community, so we rode over to have a waterfront glass of chardonnay, and then headed home for dinner.

Not that this is my prize outfit moment, but the night was so fun I wanted to share it!

Saturday Night Gone Casual

Saturday night we decided to be social in Santa Monica. Given that our friends had been out all day at the Pier Concert, I just threw on some red lipstick and a few gold chains and headed out the door. J and I had been running errands all day ("Home Depot, maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond.. I don't know if we'll have enough time." It was a lot like that.) so any effort was impressive by that point.

The jeans are my favorite AG Stevie Ankle Jeans (Darker wash here), I would live in them if I could. The shoes are white All-Star Converse. The sweater is James Perse. (I got it at Nordstrom RACK, but here are a few other JP Hoodies.) And the chains are the Zara and Guess chains I have been posting about pretty much nonstop. The red lips are Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain mixed with a a plethora of red lipsticks that I had in my bag. I love their color stay.

I felt a lot Miami and a little Run DMC.
