Little White Dress

The rules of fashion are long gone. It's the age of mixing patterns, bold colors, black and brown, and wearing white after Labor Day. This Little White Dress is a GAP find that I wore at my rehearsal dinner. We had a casual BBQ at the house J's parents rented. This gave us the opprotunity to talk to everyone. Giving us the wedding to just have a great time.

I had a sundress to wear that day, but when I wandered in to GAP, I just thought this was the sweetest thing. AND it has pockets! A must-have for me. If it doesn't have pockets, I'm constantly think of how to add pockets to it.

The dress was originally designed to be slightly loose, but I need a waist line on my clothing since I am only 5ft tall and I have a booty. So, I took in the waist about an inch and a half, maybe two inches. It's also shown over at GAP with the straps tied on the shoulders, which is how I wore it for my rehearsal dinner. But I really love gathering the ties all together and making more of a halter neckline with one big bow. I feel it gives me a better shape, and a fun detail. I'm thinking about grabbing this dress in blue now that it is on sale! I'll be packing this LWD for NYFW. Mixing it with heels, boots, and converse (and probably my denim vest) to max out it's re-wearing potential.

For Fall: Add a leather jacket, tights, and boots. Giving yourself a pop of white during the Fall and Winter seasons lightens the mood. Don't throw the LWD out with the bathwater (aka Summer).
