Summer Make-up!

For Summer, I’ve been loving the fresh look. Barely there eye make-up, defined lashes, nude lips, and naturally pink youthful cheeks. Because I’m very fair skinned, I need to be careful about going “too nude”. It’s easy for me to look a little dead. Or as my middle school chorus teacher, Mr. Grab, would say “ill”. Teachers are so sweet, aren’t they?

Sephora can suck me in like a mo-fo but I went there by myself (First mistake: No supervision!) one day after work (Second Mistake: Just paid) just to grab some new concealer. Unfortunately, Sephora has this horrible trick of discontinuing my favorite things, so I needed to start from scratch. I was lucky to find a wonderful girl who did me up in all the things I was grabbing at around the store. And she even showed me a nude lipstick that actually worked with my complexion! Of course, it was YSL… Because why would it be something reasonable? Any who, here are some of the wonderful products I picked up before forcing myself to leave the store, luckily before spending my rent money and ending up single. Beautiful, but single.

I would say that if you have frequent breakouts, this foundation may not be for you. Not because it will cause them, it hasn’t caused problems with my sensitive skin, but because it turns into a light powder after it “dries”. If you are broken out, it won’t cover too much of that up, but if you are having a clearer day, it definitely evens out your skin tone and makes your make-up look glowing and effortless. The concealer has the same powdery effect but it covers amazingly well. The blush that I listed is stunning when used in the right proportions. It goes on slightly strong, so just make sure you give the brush a few taps before applying. As for lips, I like to put a teeny bit of this MAC Lustreglass over the YSL lipstick for a little extra oomph. Makes it a touch more youthful looking. As for the tinted moisturizer, It’s wonderful.

**My main tip is to ALWAYS buy your make-up at Nordstroms or Sephora. You can try everything before you buy it AND if you get home and hate it you can return anything, any time! Seriously, keep your receipt, because these two stores are customer service based and will take everything back. It makes trying new brands or new colors a stressless and fun process.

(I’ll get better at these photos, I promise!)
